Consumer Satisfaction Survey

A recent study conducted by Mintel Comperemedia, a company that conducts surveys, that looked at how happy the average American is with their car insurance. The study found that on average about half of all Americans are happy with their car insurance companies. While this may not seem like that much, it has reached an all time high. Also according to the study only about 62% of Americans comparison shop when their insurance is about to expire.

What This Means For Consumers

What this study indicates is that while about half of all Americans are pleased with their car insurance, half are still unhappy. The unhappy half of the drivers are the ones driving the heated competition between some of the bigger insurance companies. This parlays into great savings for consumers who are willing to shop around.

Why It’s Good To Shop Around

Even if you stay with an insurance company for several years you may not be getting the best rate. Insurance companies constantly reassess their premiums. So if you were getting the cheapest premium available when you initially signed on with the company, you may not have the cheapest available in a few years or even a few months. This is why it pays to shop around.

If you have a good driving record and a good credit rating, then the insurance companies will be vying for your business. Finding inexpensive car insurance should not be hard. The best way to shop for car insurance is online using a mega site that combines multiple insurance companies. The purpose of using this type of site is to allow a side by side comparison of the best rates. You should consider shopping around a month or so before your current policy is up for renewal. This will allow you plenty of time to decide if you want to stay with your current insurance provider or move on to a different company.
